Fort Bragg officials announced on their official Facebook, that the installation would elevate its Health Protection Condition (HPCON) level to Charlie at noon on March 25.
The mesage from Fort Bragg:
This morning, Lt. Gen. Michael E. Kurilla, Commanding General XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, made the decision for Fort Bragg to go to HPCON Charlie at noon today, March 25.
What does this mean for you if you live on Fort Bragg or are in the Army or while at work on Fort Bragg? What changes can you expect to see here on Fort Bragg?
Fort Bragg has actually been observing almost all of the recommended measures associated with HPCON Charlie already, so the immediate impacts may not be readily apparent to most of you.
The Commanding General is working with other commands and staffs on Fort Bragg now to decide what additional measures, if any, we need to take.
This change in HPCON is based on the growing number of positive cases reported in the surrounding counties as well as on Fort Bragg.
We appreciate your patience, understanding and support. Many of the steps you have taken individually have helped to slow the spread of the virus in our area.
