North Carolina Emergency Management is reporting there are 12,828 power outages statewide as of 6 p.m.
The statewide power outage total as of 6:00 pm is 12,828, with a majority of these outages in Onslow, Johnston, Scotland, Duplin and Robeson counties. By county there are currently over 2,200 in Scotland County and 1,500 in Robeson County.
As wind speed begins to increase across the region, power outages are likely to increase due to downed trees and power lines.
