Could Your Drinking Habits Impact Your Relationship?
There are a lot of components that contribute to the success of a relationship: communication, for example. Respect is another one. But could your drinking habits impact the strength of your connection? A new study suggests so.
The research found that couples with similar drinking habits tended to be happier than those where one partner drank and the other didn’t.
Additionally, those with similar drinking habits found their spouse to be less critical and less demanding throughout the duration of the six-year study.
On the other hand, people with different drinking habits from their partner ended up seeing their significant other in an increasingly negative light over time. The differences in drinking habits had an especially profound impact on women, who became particularly unhappy in marriages with partners with different attitudes regarding drinking.
